The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is the largest public school district in Western Canada, with 250 schools, serving 142,000 students.
The CBE follows the Alberta Government’s Program of Studies. All schools in the province of Alberta must follow this curriculum. Students who successfully complete high school courses are eligible to receive credits toward an Alberta High School Diploma.
The CBE offers a wide range of program choices. In addition to academic courses, all students take a range of options to ensure a well-rounded education. An international student coordinator works with students to provide a customized timetable based on their goals, needs and interests.
Full English Language Learner support is provided for international students at no additional charge.
International students are encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular activities. This is a great way to meet Canadian friends.
CBIE Board of Director’s Award for Comprehensive Internationalization

The CBE strives to ensure students develop their potential, passions and gifts in their communities, in Canada, and in the world.
